Courtesy of the report of plane crash NTSB Runway crossing collisions, and Southwest Airlines Flight 1248 Boeing 737-7H4, N471WN Chicago Midway International Airport in Chicago, Illinois December 8, 2005 NTSB Number AAR-07/06 NTIS Number PB2007-910407 Summary: The December 8, 2005, about 1914 Central Standard Time, Southwest Airlines (SWA) flight 1248, Boeing 737-7H4, N471WN, ran off the track after the departure 31c landing Chicago Midway International Airport, Chicago, Illinois. The airplane rolled through a blast fence, the airport area on the top of the wall near the road where he hit the car before stopping. One child was killed by a car a car per inhabitant was seriously injured and three other occupants of the vehicle, reported minor injuries. Eighteen passengers on 103 aircraft (98 passengers, three flight attendants and two pilots) reported minor injuries and the aircraft was substantially damaged. The aircraft was being operated under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 121 and had departed from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Baltimore, Maryland, about 1758 Eastern Standard Time. Meter meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident flight, which operated the instrument flight rules flight plan. National Transportation Safety Board found that the probable cause of the accident was the failure of drivers’ to use available reverse thrust in well. . . B>
